VisitGuernsey has unveiled its new online training scheme for agents. The programme has two modules: one which focuses on Guernsey and another that looks closer at nearby Herm, Sark and Alderney. Each module is followed by a multiple choice test and once they pass, agents can print a certificate showing their Guernsey specialist status. There is also a ‘meet the team’ section to encourage agents to make contact. Every two months, VisitGuernsey will be offering new agents who complete the course the chance to win short breaks to two people with Premier Holidays and Preston Holidays. Tourist figures to Guernsey increased 8.5% last year and VisitGuernsey’s website has had 30% more visitors in the last year. Sea arrivals from Poole, Weymouth and Portsmouth have shown double digit increases in passenger numbers and FlyBe has launched a new aircraft on its Gatwick-Guernsey route. Prestige has also announced that it will include the Channel Islands in its 2011 brochure. This will include sea and air routes to Guernsey with onward connections to Herm, Sark and Alderney.
