International travellers visiting Paris are now more likely to stay five nights than three, according to recent figures. In a survey by the Paris Sightseeing Pass, 70 percent of travellers said they would take a longer trip, but would look to stretch their spending across the time. As a result, half stayed in a three-star hotel or below and were satisfied with the service they received. Meanwhile, only a 31 percent of respondents rated Paris food as ‘excellent’, traditionally a more attractive reason to visit the city. “Despite what Paris may want to be renowned for, we’re finding that it’s the less romantic and the more practical services on offer that are wowing international travellers,” said Amanda Truman, director of product marketing for the Leisure Pass Group. “Tourists visiting Paris are impressed with the hotels, the transport and money-savers such as the Paris Sightseeing Pass more than French icons such as fine dining.”
