SINGAPORE (January, 2010) - The brand new Wangz Hotel, an urban oasis located in the heart of Singapore, opened on 14 December 2009. Offering exquisite style, spacious guestrooms, and most importantly, seamlessly intuitive service and personalised comfort, Singapore’s latest boutique hotel is an ideal getaway for both leisure and business travellers alike.
“With the abundance of choice of hotels available, today’s discerning travellers are looking for a unique, personal experience that makes their stay truly memorable. Wangz Hotel has been designed with just such travellers in mind. Our exclusive hotel will ensure every visitor is treated like a personal guest. And it comes with all the finest touches of 21st century living,” said David Yap, Hotel Manager of Wangz Hotel.
The hotel is aimed at the sophisticated traveller who expects all the comforts of a modern, five-star hotel - but with that extra something. What the hotel offers is individual appeal in each room, elegance with luxury and comfort in every detail - and a high standard of personalised service.
Visually striking, yet inviting and warm, Wangz Hotel is a dramatic sculpture of gleaming aluminium cladding and asymmetrically-placed wide windows. Under the direction of architect Dr Timothy Seow and in design collaboration with Mr Alan Kueh (during their stint at CPG Consultants), this boutique hotel offers a sophisticated setting that celebrates its striking architecture in an area that is distinguished for its eclectic blend of art deco and Straits Settlement style.
Wangz Hotel houses a private collection of dozens of pieces of original artworks, specially commissioned to reflect the floral and nature themes of the hotel. The featured artists include Anthony Tan, who is renowned for his contemporary abstracts on themes of nature; Hijran Seyidov, an artist residing in Dubai who counts royalty among the owners of his works; P. Gnana who has numerous exhibitions to his credit and whose art is in the collection of the Singapore Art Museum; Tan Boen-Hian and Frederick Lee, who find inspiration for their photographic images around Singapore’s diminishing forest fringes.
Rich in touch and texture yet minimal in nature, Wangz Hotel’s 41 exquisitely designed rooms offer both elegance and functionality. Step into the Balcony Room and experience true tranquility. The guestroom extends into a spacious private outdoor patio where you can lounge around or entertain guests. The Balcony Room is the perfect choice for those seeking some outdoor space and privacy. The Soak Room is a sanctuary for rejuvenation. Wake up in your king-size Sealy Posturepedic bed and look out into the tree-lined streets. And at the end of a long day, soothe your weariness by soaking in the round, free-standing bathtub sitting within a large shower area, while admiring the night lights of Singapore. Whether it is the garnet silk wall-coverings, the indulgent rain shower and large tub, or the Nespresso coffee machine, the Soak Room is a retreat — and a real treat — for guests looking for time-out. For the ultimate indulgence, the Deep Suite is an expansive multi-functional living space. Weaving style and boldness, the suite offers a classic sense of elegance with modern conveniences to ensure your stay is truly relaxing.
Ranging between 26 to 47 sq m (280 to 506 sq ft) all guestrooms are elegantly appointed with either king-size or twin Sealy Posturepedic beds, luxurious cotton linens and goose feather down duvet, a pillow menu, complimentary high-speed internet access throughout the hotel, a 37-inch flat panel TV, universal power outlets, a DVD player, an iPod docking station, tea and coffee facilities, and an electronic in-room safe.
Luxurious bathroom comforts include rain shower with floor-to-ceiling views of the city, piped-in mood music, plush bathrobes, and Molton Brown bath amenities. Guests are treated to complimentary selected beverages from the mini-bar as well as breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, Nectar.
Savour culinary creativity at our restaurant Nectar, which serves a selection of modern cuisine with Asian influence. Conduct business over breakfast, unwind with a cocktail, or enjoy an intimate dinner - Nectar provides hotel guests and locals alike with an exciting new place to dine and entertain.
In the evening, head on up to the rooftop lounge and playground for the soul, Halo, where the breezes are fresh and the views surprising. Marvel at the panoramic sight of the Singapore skyline while relishing a martini with jazz and bossa nova in the background. This is a perfect destination whether you’re starting your night off or ending it.
