WelcomHeritage adds in India

WelcomHeritage, the joint venture of ITC and the Maharaja of Jadhpur, has signed up three more properties, taking the group’s portfolio to a total of 60 in 19 states of India.
Anil mathur reports that the chain’s first new addition is the multi-award-winning Shivavilas Palace at Sandur (pictured), 40km from Hampi, the seat of the ancient Vijaynagar kingdom in India’s northern state of Karnataka. Spread over 8 hectares of land, the estate will open with 10 suites, will further expansion planned.
The second new addition is the Sirsi Haveli, in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The 100 year-old property is being renovated and will have 15 rooms on completion. The third and final new WelcomHeritage property will be located in Naukuchiatal, 30km from Nainital, in Uttarakhand state. The new resort, featuring 15 cottages, will be a rural wellness retreat offering yoga and meditation.
WelcomHeritage President, Rakesh Mathur, said; “With these important additions to the chain, we can say that whatever your preference, the hills or the plains, the desert or the jungle, WelcomHeritage has just the experience to offer you that you might be looking for.”
