The Guild of Travel Management Companies (GTMC) has been forced to cancel its London conference after wind and rain caused train cancellations in the south of England today.
The association will now video the planned sessions and distribute them amongst members instead.
The conference suffered as several train operators in the south cancelled all services into London before 9am today, as heavy rain and high winds caused damage and delays further into the day.
GTMC’s chief executive Paul Wait tweeted yesterday:
Sorry to advise the Cancellation of tomorrow's GTMC conference due to anticipated disruption and cancellation of trains before 0900

Heathrow was the only airport to warn of cancellations in a statement released yesterday and has seen 60 flights cancelled. However other airports have been impacted and customers have been advised to check with airlines if their flight is due to operate.
Stansted Express cancelled services this morning, while rail replacement buses have been in place instead of train services to Gatwick. Heathrow Express has been operating as usual.
Eurostar said its trains will run at slower speeds during today, while train networks in the UK cancelled services this morning and have been working to clear any debris from lines.
Several ferry companies have also cancelled services today but expect to resume sailings this afternoon.
Winds reached up to 99mph in the UK overnight, causing widespread flooding and powercuts.
