A man who wrote to Sir Richard Branson to complain about the food aboard his Virgin flight from Mumbai to Heathrow has received a telephone call from the airline boss himself, The Telegraph reported.
Oliver Beale, 29, packed his 1,000 word complaint with photos of his in-flight meal, and frequently addressed the Virgin chief by his Christian name. Referring to a mysterious yellow sauce on the meal, the complainant writes; “I know it looks like a baaji but it’s in custard Richard, custard. It must be the pudding.” And in a rant about in-flight cookies, the man adds; “Imagine biting into a piece of brass Richard. That would be softer on the teeth.”
Paul Charles, Virgin’s Director of Corporate Communications, confirmed that Sir Richard Branson had telephoned Mr Beale and had thanked him for his “constructive if tongue-in-cheek” email.
