World Green Tourism Abu Dhabi is to provide a platform for leaders in the tourism and hospitality fields to evaluate responsible investment. The event, which is set to run from 22 to 24 November at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), will be the first time the event has been held in the Arabian Gulf. ”This is a great opportunity for key leaders in hospitality and tourism to meet and discuss the challenges facing the industry and how ‘green’ initiatives can be integrated into our future business,” said Thierry Bertin, vp sales and marketing, Hyatt International, South West Asia. By 2011, the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority aims to issue a green rating to all of the emirate’s hotels and hotel apartments as part of its classification system in line with the green rating system issued by the Urban Planning Council.
