World’s largest cable bridge opens
The Suzhou-Nantong Yangtze Road Bridge, the world’s largest cable-stayed bridge, has been formally opened China’s Jiangsu Province, Xinhua has reported. The bridge, which took 5 years to build, runs 32.4km between the cities of Suzhou and Nantong, bridging the Yangtze River. The six-lane road bridge cost CNY7.89 billion (US$1.15 billion) to build.
