AITO Tour Operators and Specialist Travel Agents is to hold a seminar looking at the independent travel retail sector at this year’s WTM.
The session will be held at 11am on the final day of the show and will assess how independent companies can compete alongside larger travel corporations. Oliver Broad, chairman of AITO Agents and director of Robert Broad Travel will front the panel with Peter Traynor, general manager Collette Worldwide Holidays and Gemma Antrobus, managing director of Haslemere Travel.
“With the soon-to-be loss of Co-op from our high street and the rise of the Thomas Cook brand, the independent status of travel companies is increasingly important,” said Derek Moore, chairman of AITO. “This important seminar will look at exactly how independents can survive and prosper when competing against the ‘big boys’ -including delivering the best standards of customer service and offering the highest quality, often unique, holiday experiences”.
