Airbus SAS received illegal loans from European governments, the World Trade Organisation (WTO) has found, according to a Bloomberg report. The ruling, which is supposed to be confidential, reportedly says that Airbus got ‘trade-distorting’ subsidies in the form of development loans from France, Germany, the UK and Spain for the development of the A380. Europe has six months to respond, and appeals may prolong a final decision to 2012, however the EU has already said the ruling will not affect current loans from member states to Airbus for the A350 project.
