WWF unveils five-year plan for China

The Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) as unveiled a five-year plan for conservation in China, at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. According to a Shanghai Daily report, the plan includes measures to protect the Yangtze River basin, increasing the population of wild tigers in China, and tackling climate change.
“Rapid economic growth in China has a high cost – the environment, and our task is to help people live in harmony with nature,” WWF’s Director General, James Leape, was quoted saying.
