Travel Republic CEO Kane Pirie has stepped down from the ABTA board of directors.
Pirie had joined the board in October 2010 as a non-elected director and despite his departure Travel Republic will continue to be an ABTA member.
“Kane has been a highly effective and well respected member of the ABTA Board in his two years with the association. He was appointed because of his outstanding commercial expertise and his knowledge of the online sector,” said John McEwan, chairman of ABTA on his departure. “This has been particularly valuable to ABTA as we move through a period of regulatory change. I, along with the rest of the Board, would like to thank Kane for his very significant contributions and wish him all the best for the future.”
