MSC Cruises has been given an award for its website by translation and localisation specialist Lionbridge.
The award, which was given for ‘The Best Global Website for Travel and Hospitality 2013’, describes MSC as a language leader, pointing to the company’s support for 14 languages and recently localised Chinese website.
“Last year more than 180 different nationalities sailed with MSC Cruises,” said Luca Catzola, MSC Cruises chief marketing officer. “This multilingual audience is a huge challenge both on board and ashore, but MSC’s Mediterranean way of life means that catering for a broad range of nationalities is one our strengths. From the very first click on our website, we want to make sure that each and every guest receives the same Mediterranean welcome and the same level of service, before setting off on their cruise with the confidence that they will receive warm and personal service from our multilingual staff.”
MSC has 17 different language websites: English (with different adaptations for UK, US, Australian and South African sites), German (with different adaptations for German, Austrian and Swiss sites), French (with different adaptations for French, Swiss, Belgian and Lebanese sites), Italian, Spanish (with different adaptations for Spain, Argentina, Mexico), Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, Flemish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Croatian, Hebrew, Japanese, traditional Chinese and simplified Chinese.
