Industrial action by air traffic controllers in France is to end a day earlier than planned tomorrow (13 June).
Thousands of flights have already been cancelled since yesterday morning in the row about European Commission plans to change air travel, which unions worry will lead to a more low-cost ethos to travel.
Airlines were told to cancel half of flights during the strikes, with services to resume on Friday morning. Delays will be expected due to the backlog of passengers affected.
However, industrial action announced by SNCF is to add to the travel chaos in France today. Most domestic services in France are expected to be delayed or cancelled from 20.00 CET today (12 June) to 08.00 CET Friday (14 June).
Eurostar services have been unaffected by industrial action, although it warned that those connecting to other rail operators may face disruption and can swap tickets to another day at no charge.
Rail workers are taking action against the French government’s plans to reform its rail system and break up the current operation.
Eurolines UK said it still has availability on its coach services from London Victoria to Paris.
