London’s Maybourne Hotel Group has announced a series of initiatives aimed at targeting wealthy Chinese travellers.
The company, which operates the Connaught, Berkeley and Claridges luxury hotels in the UK capital, has signed a deal with Union Pay, the Chinese payment card, to process transactions for guests from mainland China. It has also unveiled a new Chinese-language website and a toll-free Chinese phone number to boost reservations.
In addition, the company has appointed a new Hong Kong-based regional director of sales for the Greater China market, Jasmine Wang, who will be tasked with driving guest numbers from China.
And finally, Maybourne Hotel Group has collaborated with two Asian designers. Hong Kong-based interior architect Andre Fu has created a new ‘super suite’ on the fourth floor of the Berkeley hotel, while London-based Spencer Fung has been appointed to redesign the rooftop Berkeley Health Club & Spa.
