Thomson has launched its second app, this time focused on sharing videos and images of its holidays.
The tour operator’s new Thomson ViewMaker app allows holidaymakers to take a video of their holiday and share it online. This will build up a series of ‘live’ user-generated reviews that potential customers can look at when choosing a hotel.
Videos will be posted on the Thomson Holiday Views website and can also be put on social media websites, with guests able to send them while on holiday using the hotel’s WiFi.
Explaining further how the videos will help Thomson’s digital marketing strategy, Jeremy Ellis, marketing and digital director said: “New technology plays an increasingly important role in our efforts to modernise our business and user generated content such as this gives us invaluable first hand feedback from our customers on what is making their holiday great, which will feed into on-going product development, as well as improving Thomson’s SEO performance.”
“We are very proud of the hotel portfolio we offer to customers, and are delighted that we can now give them the opportunity to share their holiday experiences with others in a totally new way,” he added.
