Heavy rainfall affects Mumbai restaurants

The recent heavy downpour in Mumbai has had an adverse effect on the city’s restaurants, as reported by Feonline.
As per a recent statistics, over the weekend, restaurateurs across the city witnessed a sharp decline in business.
The rainfall affected business with a drop of 25-30% across Mumbai and Thane.
Amogh Restaurant in Thane which is usually packed is facing a lull. Bhaskar Shetty, owner, Amogh Restaurant and Bar said: “The business was bad during the last three days with a lot of cancellations and we had to incur some loss.”
Elaborating further Mahendra Karkera, partner, Mahesh Lunch Home Fort said: “The heavy rainfall has resulted in a dip of 50% due to cancellations. Even though the customers were ordering online/ home delivery, we could not manage delivering the orders due to inaccessibility of mode of transport and manpower. The last weekend also witnessed a 25-30% drop in table occupancy.”
