Wyndham Hotel Group has opened its second property on the Pacific island of Guam.
The new Wyndham Garden Guam is an upper-midscale hotel located in Tamuning, Guam’s main tourism hub, five minutes’ drive from the international airport. It joins Wyndham’s existing Days Inn hotel in Guam, which is also located in Tamuning.
“Guam continues to gain traction as a prime destination for business and holiday travel, especially among Asian and American travellers,” said Barry Robinson, Wyndham’s president & managing director for Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim.
“More than 1.3 million visitors have made their way to the country so far this year, and inbound travel is expected to rise. This growth, coupled with a lack of hotel supply, gives us a timely opportunity to introduce our vast portfolio of brands and provide visitors with quality, globally renowned accommodations.”
Formerly known as the Aqua Suites Hotel, the 144-room property recently underwent a renovation that included upgrades to its pool area and the construction of outdoor barbeque and fitness stations. Other facilities include a business centre, meeting space, gym, spa, restaurant and bar.
The Guam hotel becomes the first Wyndham Garden in the Asia Pacific region.
