New Delhi, India has been crowned the most affordable travel destination for 2024, in the latest study carried out by the discount experts at online e-commerce brand, Wethrift.
The top cities were identified based on a number of factors including affordability of public transport, average cost of tourist attractions and the price of accommodation in the city.

- Marrakech, Morocco - 49.7
- Phuket, Thailand - 45.8
- Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - 44.7
India’s capital city, New Delhi took the top spot as the most affordable travel destination for 2024. The city is famous for its historical monuments, lively food markets and tourist attractions that cost an affordable $64.53 on average. You can even sample some of New Delhi’s delicacies like butter chicken and chaat, for as little as $2.41 per meal.
The city offers 145 different flight routes to choose from, meaning you can find the best deal on your flight. The cost of accommodation came in at an average $49.46 per night for two people, one of the cheapest listed within the entire study.
Hanoi, Vietnam landed in second place on the list with a score of 63 out of the possible 80. Public transport can cost as little as $0.37, and if you’re staying in a self-catering property, you can also enjoy a food shop for a budget-accommodating $22.63.
