Journey Beyond has announced it has further grown its experiential tourism portfolio with the acquisition of Exmouth Dive & Whalesharks Ningaloo (Exmouth Dive Centre) this week. Journey Beyond, Australia’s experiential travel group, has seen incredible growth since forming in 2016 and now encompasses a broad range of experiences from immersive, small-group tours to rail adventures and luxury eco-stays, such as Sal Salis in Western Australia on the Ningaloo Reef.
Adding to immersive, authentic experiences
Chris Tallent, Journey Beyond CEO, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Exmouth Dive & Whalesharks Ningaloo to Journey Beyond’s growing portfolio of iconic experiences. This marks an exciting expansion for Journey Beyond in Western Australia and allows the group to further expand its immersive, authentic and uniquely Australian offering.”
“The Exmouth Dive & Whalesharks Ningaloo (EDWN) offering perfectly aligns with Journey Beyond's commitment to deliver truly unforgettable tourism experiences, going further to take guests beyond. There’s nowhere quite like Ningaloo,” said Alicia Triggs, Executive General Manager, Sales and Partnerships at Journey Beyond.
Journey Beyond and EDWN have enjoyed a longstanding partnership as part of the destination experience for Sal Salis Ningaloo guests. EDWN offers a unique array of activities, including guided swims with whale sharks and humpback whales, offering a rare opportunity to get up close and create unforgettable moments with these gentle giants. These encounters define a guest’s visit and can only be found in this magical corner of Australia.
Unparalleled Marine experiences
“The announcement builds on Journey Beyond’s growth strategy, particularly its arm of experiences that complement existing brands. The integration of EDWN into the Journey Beyond Group and Exmouth operations provides an important enhancement for Sal Salis, allowing end-to-end experiences to be offered in a way that only Journey Beyond can,” Triggs added.
Once regulatory approvals are obtained, EDWN will operate within Journey Beyond’s Marine Division under General Manager Niko Peranovic, who said, “We are excited to welcome this exceptional offering and EDWN team into the Journey Beyond family. We look forward to collaborating with the team to continue to enhance visitation to Exmouth and the overall unparalleled experience that connects travellers with the natural beauty of Ningaloo.”
