JW Marriott Singapore South Beach announces the appointment of Karl Hudson as General Manager. Having overseen the opening of more than 80 hotels during his career with Marriott International, Hudson brings global leadership expertise with strategic vision and operational rigour to one of Singapore’s most design-forward hotels.
Hudson, who most recently served as Marriott International’s Regional Vice President for Japan & Guam, joins at a pivotal time for the luxury hotel as it continues to strengthen its positioning as both a lifestyle hub and a premier business destination in three key areas — M.I.C.E excellence, destination dining, and luxury lifestyle positioning within Marina Bay.

Born in England and raised in New Zealand, Hudson’s journey into hospitality was anything but conventional. First joining Marriott International in 1996, he has risen through the ranks, consistently being tapped for new opportunities thanks to his instinct for people and his proven record of leadership. “My focus is on preserving and amplifying what makes this hotel unique,” Hudson says. “Its energy, creativity, and sense of place give it character. It is a design-led JW Marriott, and that is one of its multitude of strengths.”
