Oceania Cruises has announced the inaugural season of its new ship, Oceania Sonata, set to launch in August 2027. The luxury cruise line's latest addition will feature 22 sailings from August 2027 to April 2028, covering over 90 destinations with voyages lasting between 7 and 16 days. Bookings for these voyages will open on 29 January 2026.
The 1,390-guest Oceania Sonata will embark on a diverse itinerary, visiting renowned European capitals and charming coastal towns, as well as vibrant Caribbean ports. Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises, highlighted the ship's focus on cultural diversity and geographic variety, stating, "Oceania Sonata’s inaugural season is defined by the cultural diversity and geographic variety of the destinations she visits."
The maiden voyage will commence from Rome on 7 August 2027, embarking on a 14-day journey to Trieste. Notable ports of call include Catania, Valletta, and Katakolon. Following its Mediterranean tour, the ship will cross the Atlantic to Miami, marking the start of its tropical season with stops in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Oceania Sonata promises an exceptional culinary experience with 13 dining options, including La Table par Maîtres Cuisiniers de France and Nikkei Kitchen. The ship will also offer expanded social spaces and enhanced learning venues. With its innovative design and luxurious amenities, Oceania Sonata aims to redefine luxury travel experiences.
