Virgin Atlantic boosts Manchester-Orlando flights

Virgin Atlantic is set to enhance its long-haul services from Manchester Airport by increasing flights to Orlando. This move comes after Aer Lingus announced its withdrawal from long-haul operations at the airport. The airline will boost its Manchester-Orlando capacity by 12% during the peak Summer 2026 season, with further expansions planned for Winter 2026 and beyond. Tickets for these additional services will be available from 3 February.

The airline's commitment to Manchester, its home in the North for 30 years, is further underscored by plans to increase capacity by 17% in Winter 2026 using the A350-1000 aircraft. Virgin Atlantic, which began operations from Manchester in 1996, currently offers flights to four US destinations, including the only US West Coast service from the northwest.

In a collaborative effort, Virgin Atlantic is also integrating Aer Lingus pilots into its operations, ensuring the retention of skilled aviation roles in the region. Chief Commercial Officer Dave Geer expressed the airline's dedication to the North, stating, โ€œManchester has been our home in the North for thirty years and weโ€™re in it for the long haul.โ€

Stephen Turner, Chief Commercial Officer at Manchester Airport, praised the partnership, highlighting the excitement of flights to Orlando and the strengthened links between the North, the US, and beyond.

As Virgin Atlantic celebrates its 30th anniversary of flying from Manchester, the airline continues to support both leisure and business travel, enhancing connectivity for customers in the North with partners like Delta Air Lines and SkyTeam
