Air Canada has announced a significant expansion of its summer schedule to Mexico, increasing seat capacity by 18% compared to last summer. This strategic move includes the introduction of new year-round flights from Montréal to Guadalajara, alongside increased frequencies to popular destinations such as Cancún, Monterrey, Mexico City, and Puerto Vallarta.
Starting June 2026, the new Montréal-Guadalajara route will operate three times a week, whilst the Montréal-Cancún route will see an increase to 11 weekly flights. Toronto-Monterrey will rise to four weekly flights, and Vancouver will offer 11 weekly flights to Mexico City and two to Puerto Vallarta.
Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Air Canada, stated, “We continue to expand Air Canada’s far-reaching and diversified global network with improved connectivity between our hubs and cities across Mexico. This summer, Air Canada’s added capacity will further reinforce the long-standing tourism and commercial ties between our two countries.”
Air Canada, which first flew to Mexico in 1954, now connects eight Canadian cities to 11 Mexican destinations during peak winter. The airline's expanded summer schedule will offer 1,700 daily seats one-way, enhancing connectivity for both passengers and cargo.
Flights are available for booking on Air Canada's website, offering premium and economy cabins, complimentary inflight entertainment, and free Wi-Fi for Aeroplan Members. This expansion is part of Air Canada's broader strategy to strengthen ties with Latin America, facilitating tourism and trade
