Club Med has announced that reservations for its new eco-friendly resort in Borneo, Malaysia, will open on 24 March 2026. The resort, located on the pristine shores of Kuala Penyu, is set to welcome its first guests in November 2026. This marks Club Med's second venture in Malaysia, following the success of Club Med Cherating, and is the brand's first large-scale, sustainably built BREEAM-certified beach resort in the Asia Pacific region.

The resort is designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings, offering guests a unique experience where lush rainforests meet the South China Sea. Stéphane Maquaire, President and CEO of Club Med, highlighted the significance of this opening as part of the company's global expansion strategy, emphasising their commitment to growth in Southeast Asia and environmental stewardship.

Club Med Borneo features 400 elegantly designed guest rooms, including 39 Exclusive Collection Suites, and offers a range of experiences from a main infinity pool to a vibrant culinary scene. The resort also includes a "resort within a resort" experience at the Mutiara Exclusive Collection space, providing guests with a private lounge and exclusive swimming pool.

The development of Club Med Borneo is expected to generate over 350 jobs and has already employed 681 construction workers from neighbouring communities. The resort aims to pursue Green Globe certification and is part of Club Med’s global Happy to Care programme, focusing on sustainability through eco-conscious infrastructure, reducing single-use plastics, and intelligent resource management.

As a multi-generational sanctuary, Club Med Borneo invites guests to reconnect with nature and explore the rich cultural stories of Borneo, offering a retreat that is both thoughtful and breathtaking
