The Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India) recently organised the Food Safety Supervisor Training in Advance Catering (FoSTaC) at The Leela Mumbai. Held on 30 March 2026, the session aimed to bolster food safety measures within the hospitality industry. Conducted by Divya Bhaskaran of Parikshan, the training covered crucial topics such as food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and waste management.

The event saw participation from 36 hospitality professionals, who gained practical insights into maintaining high standards in their operations. Key figures present at the inauguration included Sameer Sud, General Manager, Sadashiv Bangera, Head of HR, Vivek Sukhija, F&B Manager, Chef Aungshuman Chakraborty, Executive Chef, Titasa Trivedi, Training Manager, and Disha Ghag, Hygiene Manager of The Leela Mumbai.

HRAWI has a commendable track record, having trained and certified 3,840 professionals through its FoSTaC and FSSAI's Management Training Programme. This initiative is part of HRAWI's ongoing efforts to promote a culture of food safety and equip industry professionals with essential skills.

The association, established 76 years ago, represents hotels and restaurants across Western India, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, and the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. As a member of the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India, HRAWI continues to be a significant voice in the hospitality sector
