Contour Airlines has announced the return of its nonstop service from Middle Georgia Regional Airport to Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, alongside a new route to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Both services will commence on 9 June 2026, responding to strong community demand.
The reinstated Baltimore route reconnects Macon travellers with a key Mid-Atlantic hub. "We've heard from travellers across Middle Georgia who have been asking for the return of Baltimore service," said Ben Munson, President of Contour Airlines. The airline previously operated this route and is excited to bring it back.
In addition to Baltimore, Contour is launching a new service to Fort Lauderdale, catering to those seeking convenient access to Florida's beaches and cruise ports. Heather Hillstrom Lowe, Deputy Director of Aviation for Macon-Bibb County, noted that the updated schedule is designed to optimise aircraft utilisation and strengthen the network available to the community.
Flights to Baltimore will operate daily, with additional services on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The Fort Lauderdale route will run four times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Both routes will utilise Contour's 30-seat regional jets, offering passengers leather seating with extra legroom, along with complimentary snacks and beverages.
Mayor Lester Miller highlighted the benefits for both leisure and business travellers, emphasising the convenience of accessing major destinations directly from Macon. The new services reflect Contour's commitment to meeting passenger needs and investing in the region's connectivity
