Thales has announced a significant 10-year agreement with Air India to provide FlytCARE services for the airline's inflight entertainment systems. This partnership will see Thales offering a full turn-key maintenance solution, including line maintenance, spares, repairs, and logistics management for Thales’ AVANT Up inflight entertainment (IFE) systems across 57 Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

The FlytCARE agreement will support Air India's fleet modernisation, with maintenance services delivered from Thales’ facilities at Delhi and Mumbai airports. This strategic move aims to enhance Air India's customer-centric approach by ensuring high reliability and uptime for its IFE systems. Air India is set to equip 12 new widebody aircraft with Thales’ AVANT Up system, which boasts 4K HDR touchscreens, fast charging capabilities, and dual Bluetooth connectivity.

Jeremy Yew, Senior Vice President of Engineering & Maintenance at Air India, emphasised the importance of this partnership, stating, “Ensuring the highest levels of reliability and uptime for our inflight entertainment systems is critical to delivering a world‑class experience for our guests.” Thomas Got, Vice President of Aviation Global Services at Thales, expressed gratitude for Air India's trust, highlighting the role of the FlytCARE service in enhancing passenger experience.
