InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is marking World Bee Day on 20 May with a month-long programme dedicated to beekeeping and sustainability. Running from 1 to 31 May 2026, the initiative centres around the resort's Natadola Bay Honey programme, which features over 21 active beehives. These hives, each home to approximately 60,000 bees, support the resort's gardens and produce honey for various guest experiences.
Guests can enjoy daily sting-free honey tastings, guided Bee-Happy apiary tours, and seasonal honey-inspired menus. The programme also includes the Natadola Bay Honey Retreat at Spa InterContinental. On World Bee Day, the resort will host a morning bee display at Sanasana Restaurant and a special three-course dinner at Navo Restaurant, showcasing honey's versatility.
The initiative extends beyond the resort, with dining activations at Grand Pacific Hotel Suva and Holiday Inn Suva, featuring limited-time menus using Natadola Bay Honey. Proceeds from coffee sales on 22 May across all three hotels will be donated to the Fiji Beekeepers Association, supporting local honey producers.
Lachlan Walker, Regional General Manager for Fiji and Pacific at IHG Hotels & Resorts, stated, “Our beekeeping programme at Natadola offers rare access to a living system that supports both biodiversity and community.” The programme highlights InterContinental Hotels & Resorts' commitment to creating unique and sustainable guest experiences
