Singapore is set to enhance its artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem through significant global collaborations announced at the ATxSummit 2026. The event, led by the Minister for Digital Development and Information, unveiled partnerships with tech giants OpenAI, NVIDIA, and Google, marking a pivotal shift towards deploying AI systems that address real-world challenges.
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), JTC, and the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) will collaborate with industry leaders like Certis, DHL, and Grab to establish a physical AI test-bed in Punggol Digital District. This initiative aims to test and deploy robotics services, including food delivery and security patrolling, in public spaces.
NVIDIA will launch an AI research lab in Singapore, focusing on embodied AI and efficient AI computing. This lab will collaborate with local universities and industry partners to advance AI applications in manufacturing.
Additionally, the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) announced an expanded partnership with Google, forming a National AI Partnership to harness AI for societal benefits and foster an AI-ready workforce. OpenAI has committed over $220 million (S$300 million) to the "OpenAI for Singapore" initiative, focusing on AI innovation and accessibility.
These efforts are complemented by the launch of Temus AI's Foundry, aimed at deploying AI solutions at scale and developing talent pipelines. The initiative will hire 50 professionals to work on projects in sectors like financial services and precision health.
