AAI to provide five more ILS

The Airport Authority of India (AAI) will provide five more Instrument Landing System (ILS).
These instruments which Visual Omni Ranges (VORs)/Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) will be provided at Tezu, Mundra, Chennai, Pakyong and Durgapur in 2013-14. The Minister of State for Civil Aviation, K C Venugopal informed the Rajya Sabha yesterday that at present 66 ILS are in operation at 53 airports and 93 VORs/DME are in operation for en-route and terminal navigation facility at and around the airports or on the routes all over India.
