Air India Express launches Varanasi-Bangkok flights

Air India Express, India's first international value carrier, has announced the launch of direct weekly flights between Varanasi and Bangkok, commencing on 1 February 2026. This new route aims to provide seamless travel for passengers from Varanasi to one of Asia's top leisure destinations, whilst also offering Thai tourists easy access to Varanasi, Sarnath, and the Buddhist circuit.

The flights will operate every Sunday, departing Varanasi at 12:35 and arriving in Bangkok at 18:05. The return flight will leave Bangkok at 19:05, reaching Varanasi by 21:35. Bookings are now available through the airline's website, mobile app, and other major channels.

Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, stated, “The introduction of this non-stop service to Bangkok provides seamless access to one of India’s most sought-after international destinations. It aligns with our strategic focus on enhancing direct international connectivity from the nation’s rapidly growing non-metro and Tier-II cities.”

This new service marks Varanasi as the fifth Indian city connected to Bangkok by Air India Express, joining Bengaluru, Lucknow, Pune, and Surat. It also strengthens the airline's operations from Varanasi, where it already offers over 70 weekly flights to domestic and international destinations.

Air India Express continues to expand its network, reflecting its commitment to delivering greater convenience and value to its passengers. The airline's recent initiatives, such as the 'Xplore More, Xpress More' campaign and upgraded cabin features, further enhance the travel experience.
