Air India is preparing to fly six of its grounded Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft in May this year.
The move comes after Boeing conducted the final certification flight for a new battery system last week, clearing a test that was set for it by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Air India had earlier expected to fly the Dreamliner aircraft this month, but it now expects to do so next month, two senior Air India officials told the Live Mint.
In January, the national carrier had grounded its entire fleet of Dreamliner aircraft after receiving order from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
United’s Dreamliner flights are also expected to re-launch next month.
