Air Tahiti plans new French deal
Air Tahiti Nui has applied for permission to form a new joint venture with Air France.
The French Polynesian national carrier has lodge an application with the US Department of Transportation seeking anti-trust immunity for the new alliance, which would allow it to coordinate services with Air France on the route between Paris and Los Angeles.
“The joint schedules of Air France and Air Tahiti Nui will provide our customers with more frequencies between Los Angeles and Paris, and will link Air Tahiti Nui to the Air France network in Europe, will expand Air Tahiti Nui’s global reach by providing improved service to consumers travelling between Tahiti and Europe via Los Angeles” said Etienne Howan, Chairman & CEO of Air Tahiti Nui.
Pending the US regulator’s decision, Air Tahiti Nui and Air France’s existing cooperation between Paris and Tahiti will remain as it is, with one codeshare flight per week.
