Industry leaders and experts gathered at Innovation4Mobility during Automechanika Dubai to delve into the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the future of mobility. Kearney presented insights from a global study, conducted with the Advanced Mobility Institute and MIT Mobility Initiative, examining AI's potential to redefine the mobility ecosystem.
The research, drawing from over 50 leading mobility organisations, outlines promising AI applications and stresses the importance of shared governance and unified goals. Lucas Loustau, Principal at Kearney, highlighted four key categories of 'supply actors' in the mobility ecosystem, including policymakers and infrastructure developers, emphasising the need for effective governance frameworks.
Loustau noted, “There is enthusiasm across the globe for AI and achieving regulations for it. That being said, not everyone is on the same page when it comes to which AI policies should be prioritised, whether it’s to do with data privacy, retraining employees or antitrust.”
The event also explored future scenarios, from a 'sceptical consumer' model to a 'Golden AI Age', where consumer trust is high. Loustau urged the mobility sector to collaborate on AI adoption goals, governance mechanisms, and consumer confidence.
Beyond AI, the conference addressed cybersecurity and circular mobility models, positioning Dubai as a hub for intelligent mobility. Tommy Le, Show Manager of Automechanika Dubai, remarked on the event's significance in shaping the future of mobility in the Middle East.
Automechanika Dubai, the largest automotive aftermarket exhibition in the Middle East, continues until 11 December at the Dubai World Trade Centre, featuring over 2,300 exhibitors from more than 60 countries.
