Algarve adopts ‘Clean & Safe’ stamp for tourism companies to promote recovery of sector

The Algarve Tourism Board, coordinated with Portugal Tourism Board (Turismo de Portugal), is working on tourism recovery developing new protocols to guarantee the safety of workers and clients, while minimising the impact of the sanitary crisis generated by Covid-19.

The stamp can already be processed through the online platforms of Turismo de Portugal: RNET (National Registrar of Tourist Enterprises), RNAAT (National Registrar of Agents of Tourist Animation) and RNAVT (National Registrar of Travel Agents)  and will always be associated with the entity’s registration number.

The tourism board is also presently working on a ‘Good Practices – Covid Free’ guide applicable to the different touristic activities that take place in the region: golf courses, beaches, hotels, restaurants, bars, marinas and recreational ports, car rental companies, water parks and tourist entertainment companies, among others. It will be presented soon to the municipalities, health authorities, security forces and entities responsible for supervising the activity.

João Fernandes, president of the Algarve Tourism Board said: “In coordination with the Tourism authorities of Portugal, we are making a great effort to implement action protocols that guarantee safety in the destination and allow recovery of the tourist sector.”
