Amadeus partners with Lufthansa for digital transformation

In a significant move for the airline industry, Amadeus has been selected by the Lufthansa Group to spearhead its digital transformation through the adoption of Amadeus Nevio. This AI-native, modular solution will be implemented across nine airlines, including Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, and Swiss, to enhance personalised retailing and operational efficiency.

Amadeus Nevio's modular approach will enable these airlines to transition at their own pace, offering a flexible core technology. A key component of this transformation is the future adoption of Delivery Management, an industry first, which promises to redefine passenger experiences with features like a digital Journey Pass and improved disruption handling.

The Lufthansa Group aims to integrate its content with partner offerings to create more personalised travel experiences. The collaboration will utilise Amadeus Product Catalogue and Stock Keeper to expand the group's offerings and ensure accurate product availability, enhancing customer satisfaction.

Central to this transformation is the shift to a single Order system, based on the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) Order standard. This system will manage the entire traveller journey, including flights and ancillary services, within one record, moving away from traditional tickets and Passenger Name Records.

Tamur Goudarzi Pour, Executive Vice President Strategy at Lufthansa Group, stated, "The Lufthansa Group is the pioneer in modern airline retailing. We are excited to partner with Amadeus to advance the development and implementation of an innovative order technology."

Decius Valmorbida, President of Travel at Amadeus, added, "We’re excited for the next phase of this relationship, which is our largest Nevio engagement to date, with a focus on modern airline retailing."

This partnership marks a promising step towards more seamless, end-to-end travel experiences, setting a new standard in the airline industry.
