River cruise specialist Aqua Expeditions will launch a new luxury vessel on the Mekong River in early 2014, offering itineraries in Cambodia and Vietnam.
The new Aqua Mekong boat, which will become the third in Aqua’s fleet, will have 20 outward-facing cabins with floor-to-ceiling windows, plus a spa, fitness centre, dining room, library, movie screening room and an observation deck with a swimming pool and lounge bar.
Construction of the vessel will take place in Vietnam, and on completion it will operate three-, four- and seven-night itineraries from Siem Riep to My Tho and vice versa, stopping in Phnom Penh. Aqua will also offer daily river and shore excursions.
“We are thrilled to be venturing into another exotic frontier and offering the experienced traveller an authentic and world-class way of exploring the Mekong,” said Aqua’s founder & CEO, Galli Zugaro.
The Mekong venture marks Aqua’s first move outside South America. The company currently offers Amazon itineraries on its first two vessels, Aqua Amazon and Aria Amazon.
