Queen Alia International Airport in Jordan has made history by becoming the first Middle Eastern airport to win the "Best Innovation in Airport Operations & Installations" award from Airports Council International (ACI). This accolade was achieved through the implementation of the Smart Cleaning System, developed by UAE-based Arrow Labs, a company recognised for its AI-driven solutions.
The Smart Cleaning System, powered by Arrow Labs' MIMS platform, integrates real-time data, including passenger flow and flight schedules, to optimise cleaning operations. This innovative approach allows MENA Facilities Management, the airport's cleaning services partner, to dynamically allocate resources and maintain high cleanliness standards, enhancing passenger satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Rami Darwish, CEO of Arrow Labs, expressed pride in the collaboration, stating, “QAIA’s success reflects the strength of AIG’s visionary leadership, brought to life through close collaboration between a high-performing service provider and world-class technology.” He emphasised the role of MENA Facilities Management in translating digital tools into effective field execution.
The award, presented at the Fifth Technology Innovation Awards hosted by ACI and Amadeus, underscores the strategic leadership of Airport International Group (AIG) in modernising airport operations. Aboud Abu Gharbieh, CEO of MENA FM, highlighted the importance of digital innovation, saying, “AIG’s dedication to digital innovation has been the true catalyst behind this milestone.”
As Jordan's main international gateway, Queen Alia International Airport continues to enhance its operational excellence and digital transformation, contributing to a seamless travel experience for millions of passengers annually.
