The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) recently launched three tourism classification systems.
The three new systems are on classification of travel agencies, tourist restaurants and tourist transportation, according to Yamina Aoucher, director of ATDD Tourism Licensing and Standards.
“The new systems are a result of the second stage of a major project on classification of tourism installations in Ajman,” she said.
She added that in the second stage, a comprehensive survey was conducted with representatives of new sectors, along with local and international benchmarking. New standards were developed following reviewing current licensing and classification processes, legislations and rules and regulations, in line with requirements of ISO 9001/2008 certificate. An action mechanism was adopted for each sector.
