ATPI brings seamless NDC integration to its University Travel Solution

The platform is purpose-built to reflect the complex travel approval structures and funding models of higher education

ATPI makes new distribution content (NDC) integration hassle-free for travel agencies offering academic travel options with its NDC = Not a Problem (NAP) approach.

As ATPI commercial director Peter Hosper puts it: “We’ve built a university-centric solution which can also be used in the corporate sector, on a rock-solid Not A Problem! foundation: our approach to NDC.”

ATPI has developed its own customised online platform which significantly reduces the number of pre-approvals that need to be managed manually during the booking process.

The platform is purpose-built to reflect the complex travel approval structures and funding models of higher education, while also being adaptable to corporate clients.

ATPI’s model, which is fully integrated with Cytric Travel, is already live at two of Australia’s largest universities delivering real savings, and seamless workflows.

The ATPI difference

The beauty of the ATPI model is that it delivers 100 percent compliance at point of purchase, factoring in FBT, ATO travel allowances, externally funded fieldwork and complex approval workflows.

That said, staff retraining is absolutely unnecessary.

One major university has already achieved significant savings through a 78 percent drop in manual interventions in travel bookings using ATPI’s platform.

ATPI’s platform has normalised all fare content, specifically NDC, EDIFACT, and LCC, into a single, unified interface, presented simply to the user via Cytric Travel.

This delivers seamless NDC integration enabling full access to personalised dynamic airline content typically not available through legacy systems.

Hosper said: “With one major university, 99 percent of Qantas online bookings are now NDC and no one even realises it. That's the point: no disruption, no training trauma; just results.”

This has put higher education miles ahead at a time of technological transition in the travel industry.

Transformation in action

Critically, ATPI charges no NDC fee for online bookings through Cytric and delivers up to 11 percent in cost savings per ticket to Melbourne.

As a result, ATPI has re-signed a major university and won the business of another large tertiary institution.

ATPI is also in active discussions with several other major corporate clients in addition to other universities and research institutions.

With the higher education sector under pressure to manage grant funding, improve compliance, and streamline operations without sacrificing flexibility, ATPI’s model meets these challenges efficiently and transparently.

Hosper said of this: “Others talk transformation; we're already delivering it. We didn’t retrofit a corporate tool, rather we engineered a university travel solution that simply works.”
