This month, August 2025, is projected to see the highest number of Europe to Canada flights on record* – with 4,276 one-way flights scheduled between Europe and the North American country, equating to over 1.2 million seats
Flights between Europe and Canada are up 5% on August 2024 levels, while flights are also up 14% compared to pre-pandemic (August 2019)
Over the last decade, Europe to Canada transatlantic services have also increased by over 40% (comparing August 2025 vs August 2015) as demand for travel to Canada continues to soar. This data comes as Canada continues to rise in popularity amongst European travellers, with many now selecting the North American country for long-haul getaways. The demand for these flights is also seen on the other side of the Atlantic, with more Canadians also now flocking to Europe this summer.
Canada’s flag carrier, Air Canada, has spurred this market expansion, adding the highest number of Europe-Canada summer flights year-on-year. The airline has added an additional 112 flights from Europe to Canada this August versus the same period in 2024 - equating to over 34,500 extra one-way seats during the month
Air Canada’s peak August schedule between Europe and Canada is 8% larger than August 2024. The flag carrier remains the largest airline between Europe and Canada - operating over 1/3 of all scheduled flights this month
Air Canada’s expanded schedule between Europe and Canada consists of additional frequencies to European hotspots such as Athens, Dublin, Madrid, Paris and Stockholm, alongside five brand-new transatlantic routes:
