Banyan Group unveils 2025 sustainability report

Banyan Group, a global hospitality company, has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, marking two decades of sustainability reporting and the achievement of its 100th property. The report, titled "From One Vision to 100 Possibilities," introduces the group's first double materiality assessment and outlines three new Impact Pathways to enhance sustainability efforts.

The report highlights Banyan Group's commitment to integrating sustainability into its core business strategy. Founder and Executive Chairman Ho Kwon Ping emphasised that sustainability is integral to long-term business success, stating, "Sustainability is not peripheral to business performance. It is part of how long-term value is protected and created."

In 2025, Banyan Group completed its first double materiality assessment, which evaluates the environmental and societal impacts of its operations alongside financial risks and opportunities. This assessment has led to a shift from programme-led initiatives to an enterprise-wide approach, embedding sustainability into decision-making processes.

The group's sustainability efforts are further supported by the Banyan Global Foundation, which oversees social and environmental programmes. In 2025, 32 associate-led Greater Good Grants projects were activated, benefiting 2,000 individuals, including students, women, and low-income families.

Banyan Group's environmental achievements include a 14% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and a 13% decrease in waste generation in 2025. Notable projects include the Mandai Rainforest Resort in Singapore, which received the BCA Green Mark Super Low Energy Platinum Award.

Looking ahead, Banyan Group plans to deepen sustainability integration within its business, focusing on efficiency, resilience, and long-term value. The group's inaugural Sustainability Impact Lab has identified over 40 action areas to guide future efforts
