British visitors are spending more in the Cincy Region, with a 35% increase in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the previous year. This growth coincides with British Airways expanding its direct flights from London Heathrow to Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport to six times a week. The increased frequency offers travel agents greater flexibility, with return flights starting at approximately $799 (£648).

Visa data reveals that UK travellers spent $1.83 million (£1.49 million) in the region in 2024, a 16% increase from the previous year, with card usage up by 9%. In 2025, spending rose to $1.91 million (£1.55 million), marking a 5% increase, and card usage climbed by 14%. The UK now ranks as the fourth highest-spending international origin country, surpassing Germany and France.

The new British Airways route presents a lucrative opportunity for travel agents to promote the Cincy Region as an emerging destination. The area is known for its revitalised riverfront, arts scene, and bourbon heritage. Maija Zummo, Senior Manager International and Domestic Communications at Visit Cincy, noted, “The growth we’re seeing from the UK is incredibly encouraging and perfectly timed with the launch of British Airways’ new service.”

Travel packages, including a four-night stay at the historic Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza, start from $1,230 (£999) per person. The package includes direct return flights from London with British Airways. With a growing UK audience and direct flights, the Cincy Region offers a culturally rich, high-value destination with strong repeat-visit potential
