China, Thailand, Vietnam popular with mature travellers
Saga Travel, a major UK based travel agent for the over 50’s, has reported strong growth in outbound travel from Europe through 2012, with large numbers booking in-depth tours to China, Thailand and Vietnam.
The company says these tours have carried many more passengers in 2012 than the previous year, despite the economic climate
Susan Hooper, Saga Travel’s Chief Executive said; “We are continuing to see significant shifts in what our customers are looking for. Over recent years we have been consciously developing our Travellers World holiday programme in response to these changing needs. Today’s 50 plus travellers are clearly looking for exciting destinations that offer the chance of experiencing something out of the ordinary. It’s great, and we see no signs of this demand abating.”
Saga expects the popularity of these tours to hold through 2013, while the addition of tours to Myanmar is expected to be another major draw for European outbound travel to Asia.
