COITM 2026 is the global gateway to the Chinese travel market

The 2026 China Outbound & Inbound Travel Market (COITM) is slated to be held from 14th to 16th October at the National Agricultural Exhibition Centre in Beijing.

This landmark event is set against the backdrop of the ongoing recovery of the Chinese inbound and outbound travel markets where grasping trends and connecting with resources is crucial.

COITM 2026 is expected to draw in over 300 exhibitors from more than 50 countries and regions around the world, including overseas tourism boards, embassies, and destination resource suppliers whilst attracting 4,000 trade visitors/buyers.

In addition, the show will welcome domestic travel resource providers and inbound tourism operators in China.

China’s current travel market scene at a glance

China's vast outbound travel market is set for further growth in 2026, boosted by the spread of visa-free policies for Chinese nationals and a stronger Chinese currency.

A recent industry report predicts that in 2026 the number of outbound trips for Chinese mainland travellers is expected to increase to 165 million, up from an estimated 155 million in 2025.

It should likewise be noted that the Chinese inbound travel and tourism market rose significantly throughout the past year.

According to data from the National Immigration Administration, 20.134 million foreign nationals entered the country in Q3-2025, reflecting an increase of 22.3 percent year-over-year.

Among them, those entering through the visa-free policy totalled 7.246 million, accounting for 72.2 percent of total foreign entrants, and up 48.3 percent year-over-year.
