This new service, operating on the Howrah–Kamakhya route, offers passengers a unique dining experience featuring authentic West Bengal and Assam dishes.
Passengers can look forward to a menu that includes Basanti pulao, cholar and moong dal, Assamese joha rice, and traditional desserts like sandesh and rasgulla. The Howrah–Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is a significant development in Indian rail travel, covering nearly 1,000 km with 16 air-conditioned sleeper coaches. It accommodates around 823 passengers and features modern amenities such as ergonomic berths, automatic doors, and advanced suspension systems. The train aims to enhance connectivity between eastern India and the Northeast, offering a premium overnight travel option.
