TRAVEL DAILY MEDIA Apr 13, 2026A Meticulously Restored Icon
The Warehouse Hotel was built in 1895 along the Singapore River as part of the Straits of Malacca trade route. At that time, the area was a hotbed of secret societies, underground activity, and liquor distilleries.
Today, while much of that history has disappeared, The Warehouse Hotel has been meticulously restored as a modern 37-room boutique hotel, focusing on heritage and local culture. Open as of January 2017, it delivers thoughtful hospitality with historically-detailed rooms, classic local dishes and craft cocktails in the vibrant neighbourhood of Robertson Quay.
Not just a hotel, but an entire experience, The Warehouse Hotel has received a number of prestigious local and international accolades within its first year of opening. These include placing on the Conde Nast Traveler Hot List (2017, 2018), AHEAD Awards Asia 2018 (4 awards including Asia Hotel of The Year), Singapore Tourism Awards 2018 (Best Hotel Experience) and President’s Design Awards 2018 (Design of the Year).
