
Crystal announced the next sailing in its celebrated Crystal on Broadway series will depart from Bayonne in New York on 31st October.
Crystal on Broadway is a voyage pairing world-class cruising with the artistry of key Broadway notables, including exceptional performances and a special workshop of Ever After: The Musical.
The voyage aboard Crystal Serenity, offering guests an autumn foliage spectacle along New England and Canada.
The nine-day voyage will call in Newport, Provincetown, Boston, Portland and Saint John, New Brunswick, before returning to New York on 8th November.
Crystal’s vice-president for entertainment Keith Cox said of the upcoming voyage: “Our Crystal on Broadway voyages are designed to bring the magic of Broadway directly to our guests. From world-class performances to exclusive insight into the creation of a new musical, this sailing highlights the unique opportunities that set Crystal apart as the pinnacle of exceptional experiences and culture at sea.”
A stellar cast
Among the Broadway artists joining the sailing are:
- Kevin McCollum, Tony Award-winning Broadway producer of "RENT," "Avenue Q" and "In the Heights," as well as stage productions of "Mrs. Doubtfire" and "The Devil Wears Prada."
- Sierra Boggess, celebrated Broadway star known for "The Little Mermaid," "The Phantom of the Opera," "Harmony" and "School of Rock," as well as London’s "Love Never Dies" (Olivier Award nomination) and "Les Misérables."
- Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich, the award-winning lyricist/composer duo behind "Ever After The Musical." Their past work includes "The Great American Mousical," written by Julie Andrews and her daughter Emma Walton Hamilton, a special connection, as Andrews is godmother to Crystal Serenity. Together, Heisler and Goldrich bring a celebrated Broadway pedigree to Crystal.
- Marlo Hunter, award-winning director and choreographer of “Ever After The Musical,” was recently named a Woman to Watch on Broadway by the Broadway Women’s Fund. Her work spans acclaimed theatres including Second Stage, Roundabout and Williamstown Theatre Festival, with credits in both stage and film.
What’s on the playbill?
- Mainstage Performance with Sierra Boggess: Guests will enjoy a cabaret-style concert by Boggess, accompanied by Crystal Serenity’s talented showband.
- “Ever After The Musical” Workshop: Heisler, Goldrich, and Hunter will present songs from the new musical alongside Broadway star Sierra Boggess, followed by a Q&A session. Based on the beloved 1998 film, the show reimagines the Cinderella story with a spirited, independent heroine and a message of empowerment. Still in development and coming to Broadway, “Ever After The Musical” is in the pivotal creative stage where songs, storylines and staging evolve before reaching the stage. Crystal guests will enjoy rare insider access to this process, guided by the award-winning creative team as they share the artistry and collaboration behind bringing a Broadway musical to life.
- Special Performance with Marcy Heisler & Zina Goldrich: The writers of “Ever After The Musical” will perform a piano-and-vocal show reminiscent of New York’s iconic 54 Below, featuring works from their celebrated careers.
