Ultra-luxury cruise line Crystal Cruises has added Tokyo star chef Luca Fantin to its roster of guest experts.
The man behind the Bulgari Ginza Tower restaurant, Il Restorante, will be onboard Crystal Symphony’s January 2013 wine and food themed voyage which will visit Australia and New Zealand. Fantin will join Damien Pignolet, wine expert Eugenio Jardim Master Mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim in a guest line up for the specialised sailing.
The two chefs – Fantin and Pignolet – are renowned for their Italian-Japanese and Australian-French cuisine, reflecting the international influence which has been present in Australian and New Zealand gastronomy right now. They will be joined by Crystal Cruises master chef Nobu Matsuhisa, an expert in Japanese and Peruvian dishes.
“Australia and New Zealand are fantastic destinations for foodies,” said Crystal’s vice president of food and beverage operations, Toni Neumeister. “We’re thrilled to welcome such a high calibre of food and beverage experts onboard to underscore the tremendous flavour of the itinerary.”
Prices for the 12 day cruise start from US$3,520, and will call at Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland.
